Pupils at Okehampton Primary School were encouraged to give school meals a try recently with a Build a Burger Day.

The special lunch saw the children in Reception and Years and 2 enjoy choosing burgers of either quorn or beef and toppings to make their own plateful.

The event on Thursday, October 5 coincided with Census Day, when the number of children taking up their entitlement to a free school meal, under the Government’s Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, is assessed.
