MOUNT Kelly pupils have followed their recent success at A-level by securing record-breaking GCSE results.
With 19% of all GCSE grades being A* and 49% A* to A, Mount Kelly pupils have not only significantly exceeded last year’s results across the board but also bucked the national trend which has seen a decline in the number of top grades awarded.
Amongst the most successful were Ted Jenks, Richard Bennett, Jenny Forrest, Josie Francis and Ben Dunlop, all of whom scored straight A*s and As.
Headmaster Mark Semmence commented: ‘I am delighted by these results, which represent a further step in Mount Kelly’s commitment to academic excellence.
‘Many of our pupils, as well as securing outstanding GCSE results, also excel in music, drama, sport and outdoor pursuits, demonstrating the true breadth of a Mount Kelly education. These results bear witness to the hard work both of our pupils and of their teachers.’
