A COLLECTION of historic Callington property deeds for sale on eBay have been bought for the town.

The eleven deeds date from 1837 to 1891 and refer to properties in Fore Street and Back Lane in the town centre.

Callington Heritage Centre was concerned that these documents would be lost to the town when they came up on eBay for £120, so museum members and volunteers came forward to assist.

The heritage centre itself has no budget for such purchases and is grateful to committee members and friends for coming up with the £120 cash to keep the deeds safely in the town. They will be on display when the centre reopens on April 17.
