Ju Jitsu Tavistock helped Whitchurch Cub Pack and Whitchurch Beaver Colony achieve their 'fitness badge.'

Umberto, the club's instructor, said: 'The children weren not quite sure what to expect, but once we got started they really got into it and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Even the leaders joined in and had a go. To this day I am not too sure who enjoyed the class the most, the cubs or the leaders!'

The cubs said they it was fun and exciting' and thoroughly enjoyed learning how to defend themselves.'

One said: 'I learnt the numbers one to ten in Japanese.'

n The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Scout Hall in Pixon Lane. Anyone interested in joining can contact Umberto on 07866 720361 or come to one of the classes. Beginners are always welcome.
