NORTH Tawton started out convincingly with plenty of passion, good passing and movement, but unable to finish off the ball.

It wasn?t until the half hour mark that Tawton went one up, thanks to Dean Rice, scoring from his own corner.

Tawton then became too relaxed and made mistakes. In the second half St Thomas came on strongly, putting Tawton on the back foot. Eventually they were rewarded with a free kick and a mix up in marking put St Thomas 2-1 up.

From then Tawton moved up a gear and for the last 20 minutes had chance after chance. But St Thomas? goalkeeper kept them in it, until the 80th minute. Paul Burrows came off the bench and miss-hit his eight yard shot, sending the keeper the wrong way, but giving Tawton a valuable point.

This result left Tawton slipping second in the tables.
