CALSTOCK'S Jodine Boothby has caught the attention of successful entrepreneur of Dragon's Den fame, Theo Paphitis in one of his weekly Twitter competitions.
Every week the multi-millionaire runs the Small Business Sunday competition on Twitter. Last week he chose Mrs Boothby's Gummee Glove as one of his winners.
Mr Paphitis retweeted her company details to his 465,000 twitter followers, Gummee Glove's Twitter account has been buzzing ever since.
Mrs Boothby said: 'This is incredibly exciting for the whole Gummee Glove team. To receive recognition from such a well-known businessman is invaluable for companies of our size. We are doing well and growing but this is a significant boost to our business.'
Mrs Boothby invented her Gummee Glove in 2011 when her ten-week-old son started teething. She couldn't find anything on the market that he could use at such a young age so she set about designing a developing her own teething toy.
In May 2012 the Gummee Glove was launched, within three years Mrs Boothby and her team had sold 70,000 teething mittens worldwide.
'When I first set about designing something to help my little boy, I could never have imagined that I'd be in this position today.
'Gummee Glove now employs five people. We launched in Canada at the start of this month and will be launching in America in June. Gummee Glove is going global.'
Mrs Boothby has come a long way since her pre-parenthood job of pasty-making at Tamar Foods in Callington.
Mr Paphitis' tweet marks the latest in a long list of significant achievements for the Cornish mother whose dream was to work from home while her children were young.
In reality, she has managed to juggle motherhood with building an international business.
