WEST Devon based Taw Valley Creamery struck gold twice in the recent British Cheese Awards.
The North Tawton facility, owned by Glanbia Foods UK, scooped a gold medal for its mature churnton in the 'modern British' category, and another gold in the 'extra mature cheddar' section.
The factory also picked up the trophy for the 'best creamery cheese' — for the sixth time in seven years — and a silver medal for its double Gloucester.
Jim Dunlop, general manager at Taw Valley, said: 'This is the sixth gold we have won for our extra mature cheddar and we are delighted with our achievement.
'The British Cheese Awards is one of the biggest competitions of the season and we are thrilled to have scooped not one, but three medals.'
Glanbia Foods produces cheeses from four award-winning creameries in England and Scotland.
