TWO of Tavistock?s Netball League?s most experienced teams, WWA and Delaware Dodgers, met on Sunday for an extremely close and well-fought match.
The first quarter saw both teams playing well, with WWA gaining a marginal lead of just two goals.
Good shooting in the second and third quarters saw the lead increase to 29-22. The final quarter saw outstanding defensive work by both teams and finished with a score of WWA 37, Delaware Dodgers 26.
The second match saw an exciting meeting between Rentafford and newcomers Blue Angels. Rentafford took an early lead by six goals. However, Blue Angels came back in the second and third quarters, making it difficult for Rentafford to increase their lead. Both teams played well with particular strength in the centre court. Rentafford moved up a gear in the final quarter to extend their lead, leaving the final score at Rentafford 28, Blue Angels 11.
