ISSUES of disability will be the main topic at the next meeting of the Taste and See women's group.
Debbie Starling, a disability adviser, will give a talk entitled 'Priorities and Precious Commodities: disability from a different angle'.
Debbie Starling wears numerous hats — she is the parent of two adult children with disabilities and works with people with multiple disabilites. She also works in a voluntary capacity as the disability awareness adviser for the Church of England in the Exeter Diocese.
As if that is not enough, she is also a singer/songwriter and hopefully will be performing one or two of her songs.
The event is at the Ordulph Arms, Tavistock, on Monday March 8, 7pm for 7.30pm. Women of any age are welcome and tickets are available from Georgina's Pet Shop on West Street or Linda Medland on 01822 615940. They are £9 for a two-course meal, including vegetarian option. For further infromation on Taste and See contact Ruth Newman on 01822 616859.
