JOHN and Thelma Reed of Westmoor Park, Tavistock recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary at a garden party at their granddaughter's home in Somerford Keynes, Gloucestershire.

They were joined by their son Simon and daughter Janice, three of their four grandchildren, James, Lisa and Alexander, the latest edition to the family, their first great-grand child Alice Phoebe who was only three weeks old, John's aunt who was 96 and close friends from all over the country.

John and Thelma met in Portsmouth and were married at St Bartholomew's Church in Southsea on Wednesday, June 7, 1950. John thanked everybody for helping them celebrate this very happy day and for all the presents and cards that they had received which included one from the Queen congratulating them on this very special occasion.
