A DESIGN for a new village hall in Bridestowe will be presented to the hall committee on Monday by architect Allen van der Steen.

West Devon planners gave outline consent for a new hall to be built on a greenfield site on the edge of the village in September but stressed it would need to be carefully designed to minimise its impact on the countryside.

After two failed lottery bids to build a new facility on the site of the old hall, the committee decided to sell the site for housing to raise funds for a hall project in a new location.

Committee chairman David Porter said once the plans were received they would be considered by all members before being revealed to the public before the end of the month.
