PLYMOUTH and West Devon 'Talking Newspaper for the Blind', a Tavistock-based charity, held a flag day street collection in the town on April 19 and 20.

Although the weather was showery and cold there were plenty of generous townspeople and visitors out and about and a total of £1,365 was collected. Strangely, this is exactly the same amount that was collected in the town last year!

Our annual street collection is crucial in making it possible to continue providing services to the blind free of charge in the West Devon area. Through the Times, we would like once again to thank the kind people of Tavistock and everyone involved in the collection for their generous response.
