TAVISTOCK received the kick off in this friendly and it did not take long to use their extra player advantage, fly half Kate Blake scoring.

Newton Abbott gave away a penalty but a misdirected kick at touch gave them a chance to pass the ball out wide to score.

Newton Abbot were on a roll but could not break Tavistock's defence, forcing them to kick the ball away for covering full back Mandy Blackmore to run it back and give winger Jenny May a chance to score in the corner.

The second half saw Tavistock take control, forcing Newton Abbott to give away penalties. Fast thinking saw prop Rocky take a quick tap penalty and charge her way over the line.

Replacement second row Jacky High came on for the restart, taking the high ball in at pace to make 20 metres and put Newton Abbot off-side. From another quickly taken penalty. Rocky scored her second try.

From a set move Tavistock confused Newton Abbott's defence, making space for centre Helen Smith to score.

A silly mistake by Tavistock let Newton Abbot through to score a consolation try.
