ONE of the more unusual of the events in this year's Tavistock Music and Arts Festival will be The Merrivale Dawn Chorus taking place on Tuesday May 1.

This is an opportunity to celebrate the arrival of spring by joining in singing and circle dancing at Merrivale Stone Circle as the sun rises at 5.15am. The medieval instrumentalists 'The Daughters of Elvin' with hurdy gurdy and Northumberland pipes will play for the dancing at this yearly celebration.
