A YOUNG shotputter from Okehampton is more than ready to make his challenge at the English Schools' Championship in July after setting another personal best.
At a county championship in Exeter Arena at the weekend 16-year-old David Dawson improved on his previous personal best by almost half a metre.
David, who was ranked number one in England for his age group after his last record-breaking throw, achieved a distance of 16.55m.
This Saturday the young man will be hoping to retain his title at the South West Championships in Exeter but his dream is to win gold at the English Schools event in Sheffield, in which he came sixth last year.
