PETER Tavy will be the venue for the first performance of a new short play by West Devon author Donna Baker, who writes under the pen name of Lillian Harry.

The play will be performed as part of an evening of 'traditional Dartmoor entertainment' at Peter Tavy village hall on Saturday, April 20, starting at 7pm.

The Dartmoor evening has been organised to raise funds towards the refurbishment work being undertaken at the village hall.

The audience will be treated to a home-cooked hot supper and entertained by a host of local talent.

The programme features music, songs, recitals, stories and surprises, and includes regulars on the Dartmoor folk scene: Bill Murray from Sticklepath, Val and Graham Lobb from Whitchurch, and Philip Perry and friends.

Joining them in the line-up will be a host of home-grown talent from Peter Tavy, including Angela Larcombe, Tony Webb, Mary Warne and Rob Shepherd and friends.

Donna Baker's new play will be performed by a local cast, partly drawn from the village's bell-ringing team.

The play depicts an exciting, allegedly fictitious and previously unknown episode in Peter Tavy's history.
