ON behalf of Scott May's Daredevil Stunt Show, may I apologise to the hundreds of people who turned up at the Crowndale Recreational Association's sports field on Friday July 12, only to find that there was no show.
The primary reason for this was that we had to take a late decision concerning the possible damage our vehicles could have caused to the CRA's land, after several days of heavy rainfall.
We have been conscious through our dealings with the CRA, since we first met their representatives, that a great deal of work has gone into providing a temporary sports facility which, in part, is now being turned into a high cost permanent outdoor sports facility. We, therefore, took a responsibile view and decided against performing on July12, rather than risk damage to the CRA's land which will become a community facility.
We left signs at the ground to explain that the show had been postponed, but we learned through numerous telephone calls to our offices, that these signs had been removed, presumably by some irresponsible uncaring individual.
It is our hope to return one Friday in August, when we can promise the people of West Devon a show to be enjoyed.
