ANYONE who has ever thought about taking up Morris dancing can join in on some taster sessions at Horrabridge Village Hall this month. Lodestone Border Morris are keen to recruit morris dancers and musicians, who are interested in the dance form which has more than 500 years of history. Team squire Brian Cunningham said: ?It really is terrific fun and a chance to participate in England?s dancing heritage. ?We had a busy and successful summer and it would be great to have a few more hands.? Chris Cunningham teaches the dancing and welcomes either men or women. She said: ?You do not need any experience, although knowing your left foot from your right is helpful. ?Our style of Morris is based on dances from the English-Welsh border counties, and our costume of rag coats reflects this tradition, which is very different from the all men, all white dress of Cotswold Morris.? Lodestone enjoy evenings of entertainment, music and dance at local pubs throughout the summer, and also attend fetes and festivals. Anyone who is interested contact Brian or Chris on 01822 853856 or drop into the village hall on Thursday evenings from 8pm.
