THE Multiple Sclerosis Society North Cornwall and West Devon Branch fed charity cyclists as they approached their finish line for part of the Bike for MS UK event last weekend.

For the second year running, the charity riders took on the challenge of cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

A range of locations across the UK supplied the team with refreshments; Tavistock provided a proper Cornish meal of pasties and cream tea on Saturday.

Fundraisers have raised £22,00 from sponsors so far.

Rachael Martyn, newsletter editor and committee member said: ‘This is a great opportunity for us as we are not very well known, we are a little branch with very few active members.

‘We would like to thank The Pasty House and Mole Valley for providing us with the food and refreshments.’

With cyclists coming from as far as America, Rachael said that one man named James has cycled transatlantic routes and is currently riding from Canada to Mexico for MS USA.

She added: ‘The money hasn’t yet been allocated but as there are so many people affected by MS in the UK we hope it will be put into individual areas to help people.

‘We are running the event next year and are looking for more riders.’
