AS part of the many sports week events held last week the Okehampton Cycle Club time trial on Wednesday evening was open to anyone who wished to take part. The response was good and four hardy souls came along and took up the challenge to ride for the first time the testing 10 miles ride on the old A30 road from Bridestowe to Lewdown and back. Steve Podd was fastest on the night clocking a time of 26.49. Peter Branfield (Tavistock Wheelers), came second with 27.57 and Jacky Rice was third on 29.10.
