EMERGENCY services were sent to attend a crash on the A390 between Gulworthy and Tavistock on Monday, where two people had to be cut free from a car.

Two cars collided just outside the Harvest Home, one car pulling out from the Bere Alston turning and the other car on the main road.

Crews removed the roof of the vehicle trapping the occupants using hydraulic cutting equipment to enable them to be freed safely. They were then taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police have confirmed one of the parties involved was a man in his eighties who suffered a number of cuts and a leg injury, who is now in hospital.
