THE winner of the King Phillips Cup, competed for by ladies at Yelverton Golf Club was Mair Preston-Jones. Margaret Flanangan was the runner-up and winner of the Joan Foster Cup.

This is a knock-out matchplay competition open to all ladies of the club and is played from July 21 with three weeks between each round.

Ladies also played for the Salz trophy, a 36 hole Stableford competition played over two consecutive days. The winner of the Salz Trophy was Barbara Berryman on 65 points, while Carolyn Crawford on 62 was second and winner of the Emerson Cup.
