ON February 3 the front page headline in the Times read 'Please bring back our bus', rightly highlighting the problems caused by the loss of the Greenlands extension on some bus services.

I am therefore somewhat surprised that when, just a month later, the same bus company increased its daytime services between Tavistock and Plymouth from three an hour to four an hour — probably the biggest single improvement in public transport in the 16 years that I have lived in this area — the Times not only did not consider the development worthy of the front page, but failed to mention the event at all!

I understand that there is an old myth in some press circles that only bad news sells newspapers. I am sure I am not the only one of your readers to feel this is untrue.

Come on TT, let's give as much prominence to the good news as the bad — and give credit, where credit is due.
