NORTH Tawton?s Taw Valley Creamery had a great time at an international cheese show, winning 13 awards and five trophies. Parent company the Cheese Company won an outstanding 28 awards and six trophies at the Nantwich International Cheese Show 2007, including nine gold medals. More than 2,000 cheeses from around the world were entered into the show. The Taw Valley Creamery won three gold medals for its mild cheddar, mature cheddar and Red Leicester. Taw Valley also won six silvers for its Double Gloucester, Red Leicester, hard cheese with health benefits, grated cheese, pre-packed cheese and its mature cheddar ? produced for Marks and Spencer. The creamery also won bronze for its mild cheddar and in the past master class, a category entered by those creameries which are former supreme champion winners. Taw Valley won two further very highly commended awards for its vintage cheddar and best new dairy product.
