SIX local teams waged battle in the Premiership round of the Kaminski Property Rentals sponsored Premiership T20 at the Ring, Tavistock, on Sunday.
The host side launched proceedings in an exciting game against Championship winners, Calstock, resulting in a thrilling finish with Calstock winning by one run.
In complete contrast, the next game saw Yelverton easily defeat Whitchurch, requiring only four overs to achieve the total required. Calstock's defeat of Lewdown ensured a final place for them and this was swiftly followed by Yelverton securing their final place by defeating Bridestowe.
In the dead rubber games, Tavistock beat Lewdown and Bridestowe beat Whitchurch.
The final, of which the first half was played in heavy rain, saw Calstock manage 93 in their 15 overs. Yelverton achieved the target with two overs to spare, winning the trophy for the first time and going on to play in the Devon quarter finals.
Man of the match was awarded to Yelverton captain Richard West.
Tavistock chairman Andrew Jarman said: 'I would like to thank all involved for another successful tournament, especially Tony Kaminsiki to whom we are extremely grateful for his continued support of this event.'
