REGULAR dog walkers are being asked to keep an eye out on paths they walk in the Tamar Valley and become a ’footpath champion’.

The Tamar Valley AONB team, through the Helping Hands for Heritage project, is calling all dog walkers to help keep the footpaths along favourite walks in a good condition.

While walking the dog, people can make a note of anything that may need a little TLC from an overgrown section of footpath or broken stile, to confusing signage or slippery terrain. The team is also keen to hear reports of anything of interest that may be spotted — perhaps a rare plant, bird or a beautiful view.

Anyone who would like to help should contact the AONB team on 01822 835030 or email [email protected] to receive a simple form. Completed forms will be passed on to the relevant group or organisation to help them monitor and maintain the paths for the enjoyment of everyone.
