GUNNISLAKE'S Annaliese Plowright, author of the novel 'The One,' has made it to the quarter-finals of the ABNA (Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award) after she entered the competition in January.
The contest was open to submissions from unpublished and self-published authors.
If Annaliese succeeds, along with the top five entrants to the finals, she will be flown to Nevada for the announcement of the grand prize winner, as well as receive a publishing contract with Amazon.
Annaliese said, 'Whether I get to that stage or not, I'm really delighted to have made it to the quarter-finals.'
Annaliese is pleased with the sales of 'The One' to date, and is excited about her next adventure 'Into the Dark' which will be released in the next few weeks.
The author is also currently working on an entirely new, general fiction writing project. She recently sent the first three chapters to a literary agent in London and it was very well received, as they requested to read it exclusively upon its completion.
