Mary Tavy . . . . . . . . . .5

Lanivet . . . . . . . . . . . . .4

MARY Tavy benefited from having an almost full squad to choose from, with only the injured Ian Hunter and James Philpott still to return.

Neil Piper opened the account to put the home side ahead and, following a hand ball incident, Shaun James finally stepped up to slot home number two.

With a two goal lead Tavy saw it all turn sour as Lanivet, after pulling one back, dominated the remainder of the half claiming three more to go in 4-2 up.

To their credit Tavy came out for the second half with a new determination to put things right.

Ben Stephens made it 4-3 with a smart finish from the edge of the area and then up came James Coole to make it all square and then notch the all important ninth goal.

At this stage in the match Tavy were not going to let slip again and hung on comfortably for a precious first win.
