THE inaugural Hatherleigh Jazz and Blues Festival is being held next month at the Pressland Country House Hotel — and all funds from three packed days of jazz will be donated to the new Okehampton Hospital Appeal.

A charity jazz gala takes place on Friday September 6, when there will be dinner and dancing to the Panama Jazz Kings, with guest Dave Soby and vocalist Joy Parke.

The black tie event will include a three course dinner and coffee — tickets cost £30 each.

On Saturday September 7, a star-spangled jazz evening takes place in the marquee, when there will be a buffet supper and dancing to Tony Oreshko's Shine Trio and the Craig Milverton Trio, again accompanied by vocalist Joy Parke.

Tickets are £20 each at tables of ten, or £180 per table of ten.

The weekend winds up with an afternoon of jazz on September 8, courtesy of the Simon Banks Trio and the John Shillito Selext Six Dixieland Band.

The afternoon includes a barbecue and tickets cost £15, £5 for children under 12.
