TAVISTOCK Methodist Church is hosting a coffee morning this Saturday, to showcase the work of A Rocha, a nature conservation movement with a difference.

Founded as a bird watching centre in the Algarve with a Christian ethos, A Rocha now works in 19 countries, from Peru to India, through scientific research, environmental education and community-based conservation.

The event runs from 10am to noon, serving Fairtrade refreshments, and featuring a bring and buy stall with a green theme.

Church steward Peter Mawer said: 'We support A Rocha because our church takes caring for the planet seriously as part of our commitment.'

Church groups who took part in this week's national Climate Week Challenge will also show their work.
