With book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe this is one of the greatest and most enduring musicals of all time.
Leigh Jarman ably takes on the role of Henry Higgins. Leigh started acting at nine and won many major speech and drama awards before joining a local company in 1976.
His first show with the Tavistock Musical Theatre Company was The King and I and most recently he has been seen at the Wharf as Geoffrey in their production of ?Stepping Out? and the King in ?The Slipper and the Rose?.
The company is delighted to welcome Helen Mallett who, as Eliza, is enjoying her first principal role with them. Helen has been singing in various choirs since the age of seven. But it wasn?t until joining Plymouth Gilbert and Sullivan Fellowship she became serious about the artistic world! Her first show was the Gondoliers in 1999 when she played Tessa.
The part of Alfred Doolittle is played by the company?s chairman Peter Clement. The production is directed by George Terry and produced by Richard Clarke.
