IN response to the letter submitted by Borough Cllr Weeks:

Is a community enterprise that will provide:

l a warm and welcoming place for young and old to meet up

l an outlet for local producers right on our doorstep

l an information point and local training opportunities

l an energy efficient and innovative building

l so much more than just a traditional village shop

to be considered a waste of taxpayers' money?

If we rigidly follow a business led model for all planning decisions in rural Devon we will find ourselves without mobile libraries, day centres, primary schools and of course post offices!
