RESIDENTS in Chagford gave an energetic response to a call for the town square to be cleared of snow.

Mary and Graham from the Globe Inn organised the community snow clearing. The call for action followed several days of chaos as ice, slush and snow caused problems walking and for cars in the square.

The many volunteers, of all ages and with a mix of shovels and even brooms, transformed the square in a couple of hours.

On finishing everyone went to the Globe for a free glass of mulled wine offered by Mary and Graham.
