A new food initiative in Okehampton aims to prevent perfectly good food being sent to landfill.

It’s open to all, with supporters of the scheme paying £30 and taking away a trolley “full of provisions, worth between £120 - £150”.

The Rotary Club of Okehampton has partnered with Devon and Cornwall Food Action to run monthly pop up food hubs.

Food hubs will take place at Okehampton Rugby Club, beginning on Wednesday, October 7. People need to register for a time slot by Wednesday, September 30 as it’s pre-order only.

Everyone is welcome, payment is on the day of collection, by cash or card, and people need to bring their own bags with them.
