PEOPLE frustrated by the rising cost of energy are being sought to be founder members for Tavistock's community owned Energy Co-operative.

All over the UK there are examples of local communities taking action to reduce the burden of energy on their towns and villages.

Wadebridge set up its co-op in 2011, and it now has more than 1,000 members and has brought £965,000 back into the local economy through reduced bills and local investment in energy saving and generation measures.

Anyone who can offer a small amount of time and expertise in finance, legal matters, marketing, media, web development, energy, events, engaging with academia, schools and communities, are being asked to get in touch with Kate Royston at [email protected]">[email protected] or by calling 07969569444.
