CONCERNED members of Horrabridge Parish Council have been reassured that community constable WPC Angela Frost will be returning to the area.

Councillors had voiced concerns at the December council meeting over continuing problems with vandalism and nuisance in the village and the fact that WPC Frost had been drafted elsewhere.

The parish clerk had reported that police had made 'every effort to come to Horrabridge at least once during every shift' over the previous month to try to clamp down on the problem.

The council decided, however, to write to the police expressing their concern over the removal of their community constable, and at last week's monthly meeting were advised of the reply.

Parish council chairman David Cloke said Chief Inspector Barry Frost had informed them that following the ending of the foot and mouth crisis and the closure of the investigation of the body found at Clearbrook, WPC Frost would be returned to the village.

'I am particularly pleased with this news, as during her absence from the village minor acts of disturbance and vandalism did seem to increase,' Cllr Cloke said.

'It does seem that during the time WPC Frost has been with us she has built a rapport with the local young people, which can now hopefully be re-established.'
