FIVE areas of priority for Princetown have been identified by the trustees of High Moorland Community Action Ltd. The development of the new village centre is the main focus of the committee and this is progressing, with an architect having been appointed. Also high on the agenda is the work with the young people of the village. Beth Jennings, a second-year degree course student at MarJons, has been appointed the new youth worker and will be assessing what is available. The aim is to involve young people in generating new ideas. HMCA will be developing its public image and hopes to improve its communications with residents. It also hopes for a greater village involvement, with new fundraising efforts. The final aim is to set up a Handyman scheme in co-operation with the prison resettlement unit, which could benefit people on low incomes and frail and elderly residents. HMCA provides various services for young and old, businesses and individuals. Anyone wishing to get involved or to find out how the organisation can benefit them is invited to call in to the office at Wesley House, Two Bridges Road, Princetown.
