APPLYING for a bus pass? Want to know more about a planning application? Or perhaps you need to order a new recycling box? Come along to one of West Devon Borough Council?s regular ?surgeries? in North Tawton where new fortnightly dates have been set until late September. The town?s surgeries will be held in the parish clerk?s office on the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 9.30am until noon. At the next surgery on Thursday July 26, Cllr Nick Morgan, who represents North Tawton on the council, will be joined by the council?s customer service advisors and the Pension Service to give help and advice throughout the morning. West Devon Borough Council?s forward planning team will also be available to talk about the forthcoming Local Development Framework plan. Cllr Morgan, who has been a borough councillor for 13 years and will be regularly attending the surgeries to discuss local issues, said: ?The surgeries are an ideal way of getting to know all about the services that are on offer to residents. ?However, the surgeries are not being held solely for the residents of the town, but for the residents of the outlying villages too. Come along and use this event to your full advantage.? At the August 23 surgery, there will be a home composting roadshow with a recycling officer from the borough council and North Tawton?s Environmental Trust. Devon?s Energy Efficiency Advice team will be on hand together with Devon Pound, a non-profit organisation helping people deal with debts and loans. On September 27, the council?s customer service advisors will be joined by the Environment Agency who will give advice and information on how to reduce the risk of flooding to properties. West Devon surgeries are also held regularly in Hatherleigh, Lifton and Chagford. For more information, call West Devon customer service advisors on 01822 813600.
