MEMBERS of Meavy Garden Society invite the public to view the results of their efforts in garden and greenhouse at the summer show on Saturday, August 10, starting at 1pm in Meavy Parish Hall.

Admission is £1 and there is free parking behind the hall.

Also on offer will be a raffle, refreshments and local plants.

There are 16 classes of flowers, plants and vegetables for visitors to consider for their personal choice of the best entry.

These votes are collated to determine the winners of each class, and into a points system to find the overall best collection of entries by one member.

A good number of entries have already been received for the children's class, which is to 'Decorate a Flower Pot'.

The show concludes at 4pm with the raffle and presentation of trophies by the guest of honour.

Entries from non-members are welcome for a small charge, but as the trophies are perpetual and held for one year, they are awarded only to members.
