WARTIME memories from Tavistock are being sought for a special nostalgia event, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
Jill Sargent, deputy town hall supervisor, is asking anyone in the town who has any interesting recollections from the 40s to contact her, with a view to publishing them on the town council?s website.
And the 40s are the theme of a very special night being hosted by the town hall later this month.
On February 21, AJ?s Big Band will be recreating the dances of the past with their big band sound, complete with the very best moves from the GI Jive crew.
There will be a jiving competition and a prize for the best-dressed 40s couple.
The last 40s night held in the town hall was a huge success, with some guests travelling from as far afield as Bristol to attend.
