TWO colourful concerts will be staged at Tavistock College on Saturday, March 31, based around the central theme of 'Peter and the Wolf'. Blowzone's performances will embellish Prokofiev's story and its characters with the use of dance and drama groups from Tavistock College and two well-known local figures to narrate. The project is being supported by Devon Music Service — the band has been rehearsing since early January. Members of Blowzone will be visiting West Devon primary schools during the next two weeks, giving demonstrations to illustrate the different instruments in the band and to tell pupils about the concerts. On March 31 there will be a special free family concert from 11am to noon. Blowzone encourage children to come along with their parents to enjoy the colourful programme. During the performance there will be music from familiar films plus the story of Peter and the Wolf told in music by Blowzone and narrated by retired head-teacher Anthony Wates. The main evening concert takes place at 7pm and will be narrated by Iain Andrews. Tickets for the evening concert are available from Tavistock College and Bookstop for £5 per adult.
