TAVISTOCK College entered full teams in all sections of the Plymouth Schools Cross Country League held at Coombe Dean School on February 26, March 5 and 12 and were placed in the first three teams in all categories.

The junior boys' team of Ashley and Aaron Gaden, Ozzy Willan, Andrew Derbyshire, Ashley Doyle, James Tofield, Andrew Smerdon, Ryan Smith, Aaron Rockey produced a good team performance to finish third. There were strong individual performances from Ashley and Aaron Gaden and Ozzy Willan in particular races.

A young Intermediate team consisting at times of Des Newton, Glenn Holmes, Gary Toms, John Toms, Aaron Kellaway, Spencer Parkhouse, Ben Ewing, Jake Cox, Ollie Boyce, Richard Goldsby-West, Seb Lee and Paul Gibbings found it hard going against mostly Year 9 opposition, but finished third in the team event. The best individual performance was that of Des Newton.

The most successful boys' team was the senior boys' who finished second. The team, consisting of Paul Rowe, Adam Tofield, Adam Holland, Richard Jinman, Kyle Langdon, Calvin Griffiths, Tim Mitchell, Louis Ormston and Aaron McCauley, had several top ten finishers and the team worked hard for one another. The best individual performance came from Paul Rowe, who was placed in the first four in all races. Again this was a young team and their placing augers well for next year.

The junior girls' team consisted of Lizzie Bentley, Rachel Rands, Rebecca Gasche, Harriet Potter, Katie Cross, Alice Raeburn, Miriam Richardson, Keily Doyle, Laura Radgick, Ruth Cole. There was good team running with most placed in the first 20 places. The best individual performances were Ruth Cole and Rebecca Gasche who were in the first five of all their races. The team came a pleasing first in their category.

The intermediate girls' team of Louise Elsworth, Amanda Cole, Kyrelle Burton, Sarah Guy, Sammy Langdon, Melissa Taylor and Aisha McCauley had placings consistently in the top twenty. Amanda Cole and Louise Elsworth did even better and were placed in the top ten in all three races. This good team running resulted in the team finishing second in their event.

Although the senior girls' were unable to field a team the first week, they competed well in the last two races to finish in second place. The team consisted of Holly Chinn, Kelly Corden, Sophie McGowan, Lucy Kirk, Francesca Alder, Zoe Stock and Sarah Greening. The best performance of all Tavistock's runners came from Sophie McGowan who was first in the last two races and was overall winner of the senior girls' event.
