THERE will be a coffee morning at Okehampton Library on Saturday, March 7 in conjunction with World Book Day, which is on the Thursday of that week. 

The Friends of Okehampton Library are running the event from 9.30am to noon and there will also be a 'mega' book sale.

Anyone who buys a book will be entered into a draw, and to help celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight, running around the same time, the prize is a Fairtrade hamper, donated by Waitrose. 

Fairtrade Fortnight runs from Monday, February 23 to Friday, March 8 and libraries across the county are celebrating with a range of events, including an attempt to set a banana eating world record.

The library will be running a display with information on Fairtrade.

Devon gained Fairtrade status last autumn, and a number of towns around the county have been designated Fairtrade towns.
