A CHEQUE for £250 was given to Bere Alston Recreation Parks (BARP) at the re-opening of the Co-op store in the village recently.

Contractors who have completed a refurbishment at the store donated the money to a charity of the store’s choice.

The refit was designed to freshen up the store and make it fit for purpose — new fridges and freezers have been installed and a new kiosk area plus essential structural maintenance and a new ceiling as well as some significant changes to back of house and more items stocked.
