TAVISTOCK Rugby Club held their annual dinner and presentation on Friday evening attended by more than 100 people including the ladies section, colts and senior players and club members.
The club considers the season to have been a successful one. Despite the first XV being relegated from the dizzy heights of the Western Counties (West) league, the girls U18 won their league and the Colts won the Devon shield.
Among the award winners were: Ladies: clubman of the year, Cathy O'Boyle;player of the Year and players' player, Rachel Watson; tackler of the year, Elsie Kirby; most improved player, Theresa Brown. Colts: player of the year, joint, Mark Friend and Dan Cunningham; players' player, Robin Jones; most improved player, Jack Miller; coach's award, joint, Joe Hair and Dan Oner, U17s player, Ali Dawe. Senior: clubman of the year, estates committee (The Shedites); Brian Foster Committment cup, Jim Tomkins; spirit of the club award, Cathy O'Boyle and club player of the year, Ben Williams; first XV players' player and captain's cup, Doug Lloyd.
