AN internationally-known expert on climate change is due to give a talk on the effects of global warming at a meeting in North Tawton next week. Richard Betts is an international authority on ecosystems and climate impacts at the Met Office?s Hadley Centre for climate prediction and research in Exeter. He will talk about how climate change may affect the planet and our lives and environment in the South West. Mr Betts is also a director of the Gaia Charity ? he will talk about the principle of the charity, which advocates a holistic view of the planet and its people, and how these could help us face the challenges of climate change. The free talk, which has been organised by West Devon charity WestDEN, starts at 7pm in North Tawton Primary School Hall on Thursday March 10 ? all are welcome.
