CLERICS dipped their heads in an unusual turn of events when they tried apple bobbing at Tavistock Parish Church’s harvest supper recently.

The Very Rev Dr Christopher Hardwick (pictured) took pains catching a pippin, with newly ordained priest Steven Martin in strong competition and new deacon Sue Tucker also having a go!

The parish hall was packed for the event, with a delicious spread representing different countries, games and singing.
