YELVERTON Bowling Club on Tuesday welcomed 60 children from Meavy School and introduced them to the game of bowls.

Despite indifferent weather the children seemed to enjoy the game, so much so that some have shown an interest in joining the club.

In the evening there was a mixed friendly match against Lee Moor which ended in a draw.

On Wednesday the ladies visited Lee Moor again and played them in a league match which Yelverton won, gaining six points. Unfortunately, the men lost in the evening to Tamar in the County Trophy.

The men had another County Trophy match against Plymouth Sir Francis Drake which they lost.

On Saturday a mixed friendly at Dunheved ended in a loss by two shots. On Sunday a triples match was arranged against Winkleigh. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide 15 players so Yelverton had to lend them five. It was an enjoyable game which Yelverton lost.
