Cheques given out for good causes

IT was cash galore at the Drew Arms, Drewsteignton last night (Wed).

A veritable confetti of cheques were handed out from money raised at the highly successful Teignton Fayre. The event was held in the village on June 1 to raise funds for local good causes.

Last night the cheques were paid out to eight organisations with the main sum of £1,500 to Drewsteignton Church.

Devon Air Ambulance received £500, with £400 going to Drewsteignton Playing Fields. Chagford Swimming Pool received £250, Whiddon Down Village Hall got £250, Chagford School £200, Cheriton School £200 and Chagford Pre-School £100.
