PUPILS from years 5 and 6 at Lady Modiford's School cooked up a treat when Garry Morris chef and owner of 'Sprouts' restaurant in Plymouth, paid them a visit.
Garry's philosophy of using fresh, local produce in his restaurant, producing healthy, delicious fare was tested by the children as the class cooked with him.
They cooked tofu marinated in sweet chilli, caper and soy sauce, sticky chicken with a honey, ginger, garlic sauce served with sweet potato chips and fresh sea bass with an olive and orange sauce with mixed leek and sweetcorn.
School cook Anne Hext-Williams, who runs cooking clubs at the school, happily shared her kitchen and headteacher Gavin Hamilton thanked Garry for widening the children's taste experiences. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed cooking with Garry.
One pupil said: 'That was awesome; it was quite easy so I think I will cook that for the family at the weekend.'
